'Runway:' Hunting for fashion
In honor of tonight's "Project Runway" finale, I present to you this adorable feature from National Geographic magazine, which asked some ousted designers to fashion an outfit out of leather and fur for the classic Neanderthal woman. No Klum-esque model, she: "Wilma," as the magazine calls her, was five feet tall, muscular, and handy with a spear, which would probably help her fit in well with the current crop of finalists. The whole page is worth a look, but I'll offer up my favorite, designed by this season's tannerific Blayne:

As for the real contest, I'm gunning for Leanne, and not just because my pal Chris Muther says her collection won over the crowd in the Bryant Park tent. Of the three remaining designers, she's the one with the most coherent and consistent artistic vision, plus the skills to back it up. I like the way she takes sculptured clothes and makes them wearable. I also like that she represents a different sort of "Runway" winner. In the name of art, I've always sided with the brilliant quasi-jerk (Christian, Jeffrey, and Santino, whom I still maintain should have won season two). And while she did slip in with the mean-kids' clique over the last couple of weeks, Leanne seems like someone I'd like to hang out with over a milkshake or a beer.

hurray Leanne! I always thought she would win the Project Runway!
I like her wavey styles with her collection, although a little more color and variation maybe better...
And so Kenley has to her homework instead of whining about she didn't copycat the designs....
