'Lost' Premiere Date Announced

According to Entertainment Weekly, "Lost" is returning with a two-hour season premiere on January 21, 2009 at 8 p.m. That's a Wednesday. And EW's source says that, after the premiere, the show's regular timeslot will be Wednesdays from 9-10 p.m.
I'm so glad Thursdays are out of the picture for now. I prefer "Lost" on Wednesdays, rather than in an already crowded Thursday schedule. This is great news, yes?
UPDATE Saturday morning: According to Broadcasting & Cable, the two-hour premiere will begin at 9 p.m., preceded at 8 by a catch-up clips show.

No, it's not "great news." I was so hoping it would continue Thursday, because for the first time in years, I have no Thursday night class. This spring, of all semesters, I have a class on Wednesday nights.
Bummer. I'd rather miss ER than Lost. And no, watching it in tape; TiVO or the stream is not the same.
Crybaby
What a whinebag. What is wrong with tivo or DVR? Oh wah it's not the same. Get over yourself. Most fans would watch Lost if it was on at 3 am. So stop watching, reindeer girl. No one will miss you.
Your right reindeergirl its not the same on Tivo as live. It only takes 40 minutes instead of 60 to bum out because I have another week to wait for the next episode.
it's ALL about YOU, reindeergirl.
i think it's great that it's on Wednesdays.
It's not the same on Tivo? I never watch my shows when they are actually on...
What's the difference? Tivo is so much better...
Talk about whiners! Looking in the mirror much, folks?
That has to be one of the dumbest comments I've heard in regards to TIVO. Could you please EXPLAIN why it's not the "same" as in Tivo??? I DVR all my favorite shows just so I can zip through the commercials. Even if I'm home and available, I'll wait 20-30 minutes in and then start watching. Usually, I end up finishing about the same time the actual broadcast is done.
Relax people! We are all "Losties" and do not want to miss a second of the show. DVR, TIvo or whatever the means of taping the show means you cannot watch it at the actual viewing time which is a bummer, but life goes on.The problem with taping Lost by the above means is that occasionally the show goes over by a couple minutes and/or the next weeks previews are shown after the hour by a few seconds and those precious seconds ARE NOT RECORDED!!!! THAT is the only problem I have with the taping of the show.....that and the fact that I cannot listen to the people at work who DID get to watch it discussing it. Love to FF>>thru Comm.
Can't wait to start watching the new season and I much prefer to watch it without commercials.
Carolmarrol: I think somebody has Comcast! The satellite companies have the technology to tell your box when the show is actually on or ending. I used to have the same issues as you but it has not happened even once in 2 years with Directv.
And let me premept any Comcast devotees: I do not lose reception in storms. That problem was in the 90s.
Wow I sound like a commercial, huh? Life after Comcast just makes me happy, what can I say??
I'm totally psyched for the new Lost. It will be interesting to see how and if they are able to get back to the Island. I don't really like Ben, i think the actor is a bit too slimy to be entertaining and is just kinda annoying and obnoxious... www.bostondatedoctor.com
Carol- you can set your dvr to extend the recording for 5 or so minutes after the show ends... I do this for shows like LOST when I don't want to miss a thing.
If you have comcast you can set up your series recording to end later than the show's actual time slot. This is great for shows that typically run a couple minutes over or show scenes from next week that you want to see. Solves the problem of missing the last few minutes.
Hey reindeergirl - want some cheese with your whine?????
its just a TV show and you're all acting like its such a big deal.
pretty sad.
Lost belongs on Wednesday nights. It started on Wednedsay nights. ABC never should have moved it to Thursdays.
As for recording the show, what is the big deal? When it was on Thursdays at 10pm, I recorded it every week. There is nothing wrong with watching the show a day or two later.
ok, reagrding LOST...instead of getting in to some moot argument about its time slot...
can we please discuss what's going to happen on wednesday jan 21?
is christian jacob? did the island bring him back to life? is kate going to be the new leader of the others, since she is the only one of the group that actually killed her own father? and locke, wtf? what's going to happen with desmond & penny?
how are ben and whitmore connected? will they go back, and if so, how will they get there considering the island was supposedly moved? and sawyer, what will his place be in all of this?
Geez, guess you are not allowed to have an opinion on this board :). Gosach has the right idea....let's focus on the show, not the timeslot/DVR opinions. For some SPOILERS read on. The first section is mostly casting call info but scroll to the bottom and it highlights the fate of some of our favorite Lost characters. Again, these are SPOILERS so do not proceed if you do not want to know.
