'Sixteen and Pregnant' gets pickup
MTV has already picked up a second season of "16 and Pregnant," the deeply-compelling documentary series -- which airs Thursdays at 10 -- that tracks girls through the late stages of pregnancy and the early months of motherhood. As I wrote a couple of weeks ago, it's a better argument for abstinence than anything else on TV -- and a painful but gripping show. And it's getting watched by its target demographic: It takes the top spot in its time period among girls and women 12-34 and is top across all of television among girls and women 18-24.
On Thursday, July 23 at 10, MTV will also air a “16 and Pregnant: Life After Labor” finale special, hosted by Dr. Drew Pinsky.

I saw a girl working at Chuck E Cheese in Natick on Saturday and she looks about 16...it's a nice look for the kids.
I just saw the episode where Caitlyn gave up her baby for adoption, baby Carly, I was bawling, Caitlyn, I have to say what you did was amazing! You guys should be so proud of your choice, I was totally in awe of you and your boyfriend. You stood up against all odds and went with your heart. Carly will thank you both one day! You are are amazing! I wish you the greatest success in life! God is going to bless you, I am sure of it!
I too just saw the episode with Caitlynn and her boyfriend. It's the only episode that I've seen and to be honest, I didn't think it was a show I would watch. I'm still not convinced that I'll watch it again, because after Caitlynn, I think all others will be a disappointment. Those two teens are very mature and made probably the toughest decision of their life. They unselfishly gave their baby to a couple unable to conceive a baby themselves. And it was obviously hard for the both of them. These teens are wise beyond their years. I too was crying my eyes out when Carly was born and the two of them held on to each other, afraid to look at the baby and decide to keep her. You two did great and I wish you the best in the world!
