'SYTYCD:' Bending the rules

Posted by Joanna Weiss July 10, 2009 10:27 PM

A quick note to acknowledge the easy out the producers gave themselves when it came to this week's "So You Think You Can Dance" elimination. (Spoiler coming, straight ahead.)

Of course, they wanted Phillip the Popper to go on tour with the top 10. He's amazing at what he does, a huge potential ticket draw. But the judges clearly didn't think he could cut it with the choreography. So...rules? What rules? Cut Phillip, let him go on tour anyway, throw in Caitlin in the bargain, and everybody's happy. I have no real complaints, except that Jason has never thrilled me, either. I was surprised that Randi and Evan sailed through - their fan base is obviously huge. And I thought Ade's solo was amazing. I want to download that song, too!

  1. I agree. It seemed very contrived. I also agree that Randi and Evan deserved to be in the bottom three.

Ade's solo was fantastic! I am also happy Jeanine is now freed up to dance with other people. She's fabulous.
