Looking for your thoughts on the "cheesy musical" device being deployed recently in Rescue Me. Coupled with the artsy theater thing they have going during Tommy's barroom interactions his ghosts, they are threatening to pull me out of the very compelling narrative the show has going. The musical numbers have a very (old/good!) Scrubs feel to them that doesn't fit with the edginess of Rescue Me. IMHO.
