More Glambert

ABC pre-taped Adam Lambert’s appearance on “The View” this morning, just in case he, you know, spontaneously grabbed something and kissed it. After cancelling three performances by Lambert due to his suggestive dancing and guy-on-guy kiss at ABC's American Music Awards, the network finally took a cautious step forward. Adam Lambert: Man of danger. “I think ABC is keeping [the controversy] a lot more alive than anybody else,” Whoopi Goldberg wisely noted.
The “View” stars clearly loved Lambert. While he delivered his now-familiar comments about not being a babysitter, about the AMAs not being “American Idol,” and about double standards, each of the hosts voiced support for him. Sherri Shepherd called him “a cutie patootie,” Elisabeth Hasselbeck pointed out that the AMA performance took place long after a child’s bedtime, and Joy Behar said she thinks the controversy is “somewhat homophobic.” Before he sang “Whataya Want From Me” (without incident), he was fully steeped in positive lady love.
Behar gave him the opportunity to deliver the best line of the hour, and perhaps of the week in Glambert, when she said, “You’re not exactly a nice Jewish boy, let’s face it Adam.”
“Well, I’m a little different,” he responded. “My dreidel spins the other way.”
