Our own Matt Damon is going to make a TV appearance this spring on "30 Rock." He will play a love interest for Tina Fey's Liz Lemon, and he may be on more than one episode -- the details are still unclear.

Back in December, Damon told Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello, "I would do [30 Rock] in a heartbeat, if they asked me to come on. I have not been approached about doing it. She should call my people -- or, even better, me. Or I could call her. Let's make this happen. Tina is a brilliant comedy writer. My wife and I download that show in bulk. That's actually one of the downsides to working so much this year; I have fallen behind on this season. But we love that show, so if she has a part for me, I'm game." After that, the rest clearly fell into place.

The last time Damon took a break from his major film career to appear on a network sitcom, he was in a memorable episode of "Will & Grace" in 2002. He played a straight guy who was pretending to be gay in order to sing with the gay chorus, and it was hysterical. Damon clearly has a great sense of humor, which, of course, was also in abundance in his famous 2008 video with Sarah Silverman -- "I'm &$^#%@ Matt Damon."
