Speculation has been running rampant that NBC executives are looking to replace Curry, after the "Today" show's spring ratings battle with ABC rival "Good Morning America," according to The Associated Press.
However, Iraq veteran Stephen Crowley has started an online petition to keep Curry on the popular morning show, stating,"one of the things that gives me a sense of calm and certainty in life is Ann Curry's compassionate style of journalism."
Crowley also added in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that "I hope I don’t start an Occupy NBC, because I like the other people [on the show]. I don’t want to get anyone fired. I just think maybe they should add more people. Hire someone else too [but keep Ann].”
As of June 25, over 18,000 signatures have been collected.
