Beverly High grad Angela Miller makes 'Idol' debut
Angela Miller, who graduated Beverly High School in 2012, will make her debut on the premiere of "American Idol" tonight on Fox. Miller's status in the competition cannot officially be confirmed, but given her appearance in the show's promotional videos, locals and online fans alike (including an unnofficial "Idol" site, created in December) appear optimistic.
Yesterday, Beverly High School Principal Sean Gallagher sent an automated phone call to families of Beverly students urging them to watch Miller on tonight’s show and saying, "We’re all rooting for her to be the next ‘American Idol."
The newspaper also noted that Miller and her family could not be reached for comment due to confidentiality restrictions set by the show.
"American Idol" returns to Fox tonight at 8 p.m. for the first of a two-night premiere. Much-hyped new judges, Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey, and Keith Urban, will debut as judges in the 12th season.
