Local contestant Angie Miller went from waitress to superstar in a matter of months, and after weeks of competition on "American Idol," including an emotional visit to her hometown of Beverly last weekend, the 19-year-old was eliminated from the show.

Tennessee's Kree Harrison and South Carolina's Candice Glover will compete in the show's finale next week.

Miller sang former "Idol" contestant Colton Dixon's song "Never Gone" to close out the results episode. She had to choke back tears throughout her final performance on the show and stopped short of finishing after her parents joined her on stage. Check out a video clip of Miller singing the same song on "Idol" from earlier this season below.

And for all you future "American Idol" hopefuls, we've got good news! The show is coming to Boston on Aug. 2 for auditions. We'll have more info for you as the date gets closer. Start working on your perfect song for the try-out in the meantime!
