Say goodbye to Sami -- or at least to the Alison Sweeney version.
After 21 years, the "Days of Our Lives" star announced on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" that she will leave the daytime soap opera to concentrate on family time. Sweeney is the mother of a 9-year-old son, Benjamin, and a 5-year-old, Meghan, with husband David Sanov.
"I've been on Days of Our Lives for 21 years. I'm celebrating my 21st year and I decided that it's going to be my last year with the show," Sweeney told DeGeneres. "I've been on Days of Our Lives since I was 16-years-old, and I have never had more than a two-week vacation in that whole time. It's awesome. I love Sami, I love Salem, I love my job, I love daytime, I love the fans—I love everything about it."
Sweeney, who started on "Days" in 1993, will wrap her 22nd year on the show before taking her final bow, but she's clueless about Samantha Brady's (Sami's) fate.
There's also no word on whether she'll continue her duties as the seven-time host of "The Biggest Loser," which is in its 15th season on NBC.
