WBCN's most enduring on-air personality was Charles Laquidara, a graduate of Milford High School. Laquidara replaced Peter Wolf on the 'BCN air in 1969, when Wolf joined the J. Geils Band. By 1972, Laquidara was the morning DJ on WBCN, creating a show he called the "Big Mattress," which would be a morning radio fixture in Boston for the next 28 years.
