Boston Globe TV critic Matthew Gilbert has rounded up 12 shows that he says should have been saved from cancellation.

"Arrested Development" (left) fans have cause to celebrate. After years of rumors about a possible return to the small screen, the show's creators and cast finally announced plans for a new TV show and subsequent movie. The new show will be a spin off of the short-lived but critically acclaimed TV show that aired from 2003 to 2006.
