14. The Job

This short-lived ABC cop comedy showed us how Denis Leary (pictured) and his abrasive humor could work on series TV. While it never reached the heights of Leary’s later opus, "Rescue Me," "The Job" had loads of promise as it turned "NYPD Blue" into a gonzo single-camera sitcom. It mixed jittery life on the streets with absurdist guy comedy.
