Observing Ramadan

Muslim faithful throughout the world are currently observing the holy month of Ramadan. Observant Muslims participate in fasting (sawm), one of the five pillars of their faith, this entire Lunar month (this year it extends from September 1st to the 30th). Eating, drinking, smoking and sexual activity is prohibited from dawn until sunset, when the fast is broken with the evening meal called Iftar. Local customs define varying traditions, including differing types of food used to break the daily fast. The fasting is meant to teach a person patience, humility and sacrifice, to set aside time to ask forgiveness, practice self-restraint, and pray for guidance in the future. (35 photos total)

Thank you so much for your interest in the Muslim world. The photos are indeed amazing and say so much. These images need to be seen by those who think the Muslim world is just terrorism and violence.
Islam is really a path to personal peace and joy. It wants this personal state to be affirmed and enhanced by the surrounding environment. This has lead to the development of the most beautiful cultural expressions which as you depict here vary from place to place. Wherever islam spread it sought to bring out the best of the culture that already existed and increase the ways of expressing awe of God.

I felt muslims are in trouble all over the world and feel pitty for them, But we are suffering all these troubles because of our own faults as many of us do not practising Islam in the real sense. Rather they are bitraying from the rules and the sunna. This is the time we should once again look in to the facts , which can make us strong , united and peaceful. Try to understand the tricks played by Jewish against Islam. They are missusing Christianity against Islam. I pray that Christian should also realize what is going on with them. They are first victims of Jews and the second one is Muslim. All the terrorism in the world is conducted presently is because of Jews. They tactfully giving it on the name of Muslims . If you look at the faces of Talban. They donot look like muslims. They are infact Jews and their puppets. There is no end to talk about the politics of this world. because it is all in the hands of Jews. This time they are ruling the whole world. It is shame full for muslims who have forgotten the reason why they are sent in this world They sent here to follow Allah and His Prophets. but they are busy in following Indian movies and media, english culture and all other stuff which is taking them away from Islam. Please Open your eyes and try to build your life structure according to the teaching of Hazrat Mohammad Peace be Upon Him..

Anjum writes: "All the terrorism in the world is conducted presently is because of Jews."
