Children in Pakistan
According to Pakistani authorities and the UN, at least 3 million internally displaced persons (IDPs) have now been registered as a result from recent fighting and on-going military operations against the Taliban in Pakistan's Swat, Buner, and Lower Dir districts. Refugee families are often made up of only women and children, the older men staying behind to care for their homes and crops. UN humanitarian chief John Holmes issued a desperate appeal for hundreds of millions of dollars to help those who have fled the war, warning that the U.N. can only sustain its current aid efforts for one month. Photographers in the area have captured many powerful images of those affected, some of the most striking focused on children, from which I've collected 38 here for you. (38 photos total)

Hamida, a six-year old internally displaced girl who fled a military offensive in the Swat valley region, sits outside the food distribution tent at the UNHCR (United Nations High Commission for Refugees) Yar Hussain camp in Swabi district, about 120 km (75 mi) northwest of Pakistan's capital Islamabad June 9, 2009. A boy looks away as grieving family members and friends surround the casket of Umer Amin, age 23, at his funeral June 7, 2009 in the village of Phoolgrah, just outside of Islamabad, Pakistan. Amin was a security policeman killed during the previous night's bomb blast attacking a police emergency helpline. The suicide blast which killed two police officers and wounding 3 was the latest in a series of attacks on civilian and security targets seen as retribution by the Taliban for Pakistan's and on-going military operations. An attacker wearing an explosive vest blew himself up inside a packed mosque during prayers, killing at least 33 people and wounding 40 more in Haya Gai village in Upper Dir, a district next to Swat. Hindu families in the area are warning their daughters to stay indoors after Taliban extremists lured away a 12 year-old Hindu girl and converted her to Islam. The girl was later unable to return to the Hindu community, and was abandoned by the Muslim community. (AP Photo/Greg Baker) #

Emilio Morenatti is doing his best with several pieces of pure beauty among these photos. Congratulations
Pk,
Sir/Ma'am, you are an assh*le. Religion might be the only thing holding those people together. Just because it's not your way, doesn't make it wrong. And, furthermore, what kind of idiot refers to Dogmatic law and mass-transit in the same paragraph. Nice transition, you half minded baboon. Go back to your undergraduate philosophy class and peddle your crap somewhere else. These photos were brilliant, by the way.
pk: The only difference between one of these children and yourself occurs because you were not born 10 years ago in Pakistan. Appreciate your luck instead of poking at the unfortunate who didn't get to choose where they were born.
@PK, How unware, and yet so articulate.
Most of the people by now must have heard Hillary Clinton's admission of guilt.
But PK still blames Islam.Lets understand that Islam and Taliban are not one and the Same thing,While Taliban is the Monster created by the Colonial powers,Islam was the victim that was rounded up at gunpoint to be used as a Humanshield.
Please educate yourself. You will do us all a favour.
Emilio Morenatti, you are a Genius.
By looking at these photos it seems they happy. I was praying to Allah that this trail brings them increase in Iman in my Muslin sisters and brother and that these kids become the army for reformation of Islam. Inshallah the real Islam will be practice soon .
@ PK
pakistan is the country in which a Pakistani Student ALI MOIN Secured 21 A Grades in A Level Exams ....................................... there are so many thing pakistan has (GOOD things =p) .......................... try educating yourself about it maybe by using GOOGLE =p
It's a classic example of what you sow is what you reap. I feel terrible for the plight of children there, but the responsibility is with the government and the military. All they have done all these years is train militants against India and launch attacks and kill innocent people and use up the aid in building their nuclear arsenal. They propagate hate in their schools. Children are taught to hate. They are taught no tolerance for other religions, how do you expect children to grow up as peace loving adults? They are forgetting that they themselves are ruining the future of their own children and hence the country by this.
#22 is a great shot - love it
These pictures leave me speachless - both beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. God Bless the children of my country - Pakistan and help us through our collective tragedy!
@Indian (#78): If we are to get into this conversation, let me clear u something up. Our elitists and your Brahman Zionists, blame each others agencies just for us to hate each other. Are u actually that dumb not to notice! If you and me will come together with piece, how will these money eating Rulers of ours, eat big time money in the name of Defense budgets. 40% of our economy is being sucked out by our military and elitists. Who pretend that we are a threat to each other and brain wash our minds for the hatred among each other. Everything was going well between India & Pakistan from 2004 to 2008, heck we were even close to solving the Kashmir Issue. But all of a sudden, we have this major bomb explosions, one in Mumbai and One in Islamabad, 40 odd killed in both. And all those friendship movements going on for 5 years now goes down the drain and we are back to square one. Ready to eat the skins off each other. While our Military heads and elitists are probably partying together in Dubai. Mocking each others people, laughing on how extremely dumb we are. So brother, wake up, start looking inside your own collars and judge of who gets the benefits of these events that happen. Mumbai Blasts were never beneficial for us, because we lost the table on the Kashmir Issue after it. And the Islamabad & Peshawar Marriot blasts weren't beneficial for you, because you lost the deal of getting your cheap fuel pipeline from Iran through Pakistan. Who befitted? Just think about it!
being a photographer myself, massive aplause too all the poeple who took those pictures!!!... wish i could be there with you, help out as much as i can....
but we all are peraying, they can break our home but they can't break our hope and spirit.
The desperation in their eyes, the children inhaling lungs full of insecticide, helpless looking men, women trying to hold on as best as they can; maybe the "lucky" one in the whole "camp" was the policeman that was killed. He is now in paradise and untouchable.
Who is staring these pictures without guilt and anger?
Who-from our privileged western world –does not feel lucky for not being born there in the countries of the Third World?
Who cannot realize that all these kids are the victims of our rapacity a continuous theft of their future?
Who can be so blind seeing only “others” and not Humans?
Only somebody, who does not deserve to be called a Human Being.
Labai super nuotraukos, emocijos, aplinka perduotos tobulai, sveikinimai!
The cause of this condtion in Pakistan, mainly,is war in Afganistan.America try to stop the war and do discussion with Taliban and other militant organisationsand also try to reconstruct Afgan and pakistan. It is the only way to establish peace in that region and get freedom to children.
Beautiful and heartbreaking. I wish I knew what to do to help...
These pictures are a perfect example that war is such an ugly thing. These beautiful innocent children do not deserve this. May God help them, and may God help Pakistan. To all those people who feel no repentance, don't bother coming onto this site to post your insensitive and ugly comments. If your heart doesn't tremble for these children, and any one who suffers because they are not from your region. You are not human! Since when is love, passion, care subjected to a region? These beautiful children are in my prayers.
I just decided not to bitch about stuff any more. If kids in these conditions can be so cheerful and have fun, I really have no reason _at all_ to complain about _anything_.
Thank you for the eye-opener.
I think some of my comments have been poorly read or taken in the wrong context. I abhore any people that use religion as reason to take from others. It is why I quetions my faith to this day. i know what has been done thorughout history in the name of Christianity. I know what has been in history in the name of Islam and Judaism as well. I don't care what faith you choose to believe, as long as your belief doesn't give you the right to think I no longer deserve to live, exist, or prosper, because I see it otherwise.
To that extent, is why I feel no sympathy for this tragedy. I will never stand behind a group that asks for handouts, only to later attempt to skew it back on the country that is being helpful. I understand religious propoganda. I understand that a large majority of muslims, don't hate America. But what I don't see, is that majority doing something about it without some kind of stipulation or handout. What I see is a majority that idly stands by why those "misfits" of the faith do as they please to nations, innocents, etc. that are of even their own faith, let alone other faiths. tell me how is blowing up a mosque, school, hotel, hospital, etc of innocent civilians an act of a proper Muslim. Anyone committing terrorism unde the guise of their faith, probably needs to re-evlauate their faith and beliefs.
I applaud all people taking a stand against violence and terror. I don't support violence to beget violence, unless that seems to be the only resort to protect what is necessary. Radical beliefs are what led to corruptive regimes throughout human time. I will stand by my beliefs that these people need to help themselves for a change, to fight for their personal freedom, their right to enhance their lives and not be repressed into beliveing what a government or religion tells them too.
to #35 what a stupid posting. How can you say you can't be compasionate? Are you not human? Just because extremist idiots try and brain wash these poor kids, it's people like you that make it true. Stop being foolish and if you do not have anything better to say stop spreading hate and keep your mouth shut.
May ALLAH forgive us for what we have the current situation within our country...
Regards,
Zahir Hussain Shah
They are my own people in the areas from where originally I belong to.My heart and emotions go with them. I pray and wish taht this fight, war and blood shed is stopped completely. These lovely kids and honorable people go back to their homes, fields, works, schools and they are no more called Internally displaced persons.
@ NEIL in #8
That is the Obama version. A laptop for every child; pay no attention to the millions starving to death or dying from dysentery AIDS.
My heart feeling i can not express after seeing these pictures but i want to do something for our future(children are our future) and i realy appriciat Mr. Usman for this timly act and i am with him for this nice work.
Please also think that we should try avoid making situations like this. Its good to give charity, its better no one need charity. What ever the reasons are its not very difficult to get them their homes, their life and their schools back. Just have to make a push to some people who are up to ruin a whole generation again.
Were Taliban not kids in 70th and 80th century, may be some one had seen pictures from them as well ?
Will these kids not reply the same way, when they will be grown up ?
Will they not be used in the same hands ?
If yes then How many more pictures we will have to see?
Whom we can trust ,,, Pakistani GOVT politicians , supported by US , or US/NATO forces?
if we can trust ourselves we can take responsibility for bringing peace and some civilization in the area, I think that is what they need most.
#54 - "There is something wrong with #5 - one rope tied to the end of a stick will not support that load."
I *believe* the boy in the swing was twisted the two ropes such they join just above his lap and he holds on to the joined ropes. If you zoom in a bit the rope appears to be twined as if two ropes were wrapped about one another.
Thanks for this fine set of photos.
Stop using the term military action since it is the 'Do more' mantra from the west which initiated this process and though we have to fight the Taliban now it was the US which created them in the first place. If you want to report about the camps report honestly and stop using cliches. This is your doing.
I read this blog very much in line with the suffering of the kids
http://lostinrandomworld.blogspot.com/2009/06/people-living-on-edge.html
This is a very well planned Conspiracy Against Pukhtuns By Paki Establishment. They want to Kill Our people, make them Homeless, make them immigrants in there own pukhtunkhwa land, So that there young generation will grow up Illiterate.
But now we have recognized our Enemy, Which is this Paki Land, ISI and naPak Army, they played there bloody games on our Lands, Gave birth to there Taliban Children. And now there own Production i.e Taliban are made an Excuse to Destroy Our Land.
Inshallah... We will take the Revenge....
very sad
I wish I can help them out, no matter what their faith or nation. They are human being just like us.
I am amazed at those people who have electricity, running water, and 24 hour access to food saying that they shouldn't be concerned about the lives of refugee children due to 'anti American demonstrations.'
Amazing pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!
I read a few comments earlier which acknowledged how touching these photos were. But the people who wrote the comments went on to say that they could not feel compassion for these children because they are not their own, so far away, and have anti-US/democratic feelings.
I was shocked and disappointed. We are not automatons, we are human beings. It is called humanity. How can we be so disconnected from each other
to beaker#39
another brainwashed US citizen huh? Do you really believe America is helping generously the World with no hidden agenda? There might have been a few examples where the US did, might...but mostly they only go and fight to serve their own interests. I'm not going to review all the wrong reasons for the Irak war, if you can't read newspapers, and not only US ones, there is no hope. If the US had stayed at home instead of fighting blindly in many theaters in the world, supporting the wrong people, like the taliban initially, pretending to have a president of the free world (somebody has to tell me how I missed that election by the way), letting incompeting people like the bushies meddling in coups and similar niceties, some much hatred wouldn't have been generated.
and don't come with WWII again. Though we, Europeans, are grateful for your big efforts and participation, as we are or should be for Russians, it took you time to react and we had to pay, borrow and reimburse a lot of money to get you finally in, quite late. US troops shoud have come for free: still cheaper that let the nazis fight on US soil, no?
now don't get me wrong, I respect America on many aspects, I have even growing respect again since the outcome of the last election, finally not rigged.
"bird feeder" you say? Well with all the money that has been looted from 3rd world countries and countries you think have been freed, that's a minimum, no? But again, look at the numbers, you only give a big amount of cash per se. But per head, you look stingy my friend. All other industrialised nations from G20 give a higher percentage of their wealth than the US.
maybe you shouldn't be too harsh on "these people", except if you're a pure Indian, you'd be surprised to learn who your ancestors are. Maybe some Pakistanis, who knows.
funny enough, your conclusion is not too bad, stop meddling indeed. And get informed.
"you sow what you reap", sounds familiar?
@129....It is stupid people like u who are the source of many of our problems....Rather than goin on a ridiculous rant about the Paki Land and the ISI why dont u try to correct ur ownself...ISI havce many other problems than planning a conspiracy against the Pukhtuns...If u hav written this comment from Pakistan then shame on you...What revenge will u take???Destroy the 'Paki Land"?Go and educate urself first....
Please dont use the word 'Paki' (- it is offensive), but rather Pakistani. Thanks. Oh yeah, nice pics.
For those who say that a lot of people have died in the name of religion, please note, that the major wars that have gone on were secular in nature (not religious wars).
The other thing is you shouldn't blame a faith (such as Islam) for innapropriate acts that have been perpetrated, but the ill-informed people who carry them out, who may claim to be following a certain faith (but in fact are far from its teachings). If a 'John', 'Christopher' or 'Matthew; went and robbed a bank or killed a load of people, I wouldnt say 'it was the Christian terrorists'. I dislike the term 'Islamist terrorist' etc. Unfortunately, a few hot-headed, ill-informed individuals are giving Islam and the vast majority of Muslims a bad name throughout the world.
All these violence is made in the name of "Islam".
There is no doubt about this, in the minds of people who are involved in these terrorist activities.
But, there are muslims who may not agree. But, why don't you give out "fatwa's" against these terrorits?
Keeping quite is a way of encouraging and that's what the silent muslims are doing.
We see that "Islamic Terrorism" has spread all over the world.
And some people argue that Islam is a religion of peace.
But, when I look at the life of Mohammed Paigamber, you can see that Islam is not for peace.
Pakistani people are ravaged by the Taliban's oppression and a govt. that is absolutely ineffective in controlling the country or in developing the nation. No external nation can help them out of this situation. Only education in my opinion can change any of this.
In response to the first comment: (Beaker), the point is that your nation don't want to bird meddle anyone in this world. Your nation did this to create tension on the land, just to keep your possible fore-runners under tension. They just want to play the role of world policeman. Now its time for a downfall. Keep your fingers crossed, time is nearing... You people are just going to reap what you saw in past. Your nation only created this much inhumane havoc in this world, and now feeling sorry for all this!!! Sound funny. Who gave you the permission to rule (act like) the world??
In response to Rakesh: 144, if only the few thousands people empowering the Pakistan are the nation then you might be right. But there live more then 180Millions lovely, innocent and caring people in this land including two NOBLE prize awarded personalities, one is Muslim another is Hindu.
could you make a correction .... in my last post, I meant to say ruling Pakistan nor empowering.
In response to Rakesh: 144, if only the few thousands people ruling Pakistan are the nation then you might be right. But there live more then 180Millions lovely, innocent and caring people in this land including two NOBLE prize awarded personalities, one is Muslim another is Hindu.
Please don't blame Islam for this non-sense. Blame the backwardness of the Pakistani people. If Islam was at fault, rest of the Muslim countries would be in the same situation. Do simply blame Islam for all the problem in the world is racist, stupid, silly, and without merit. Islam took a bunch of goat herders in Arabia made them into an Empire. Only when authentic and traditional Islam started to dwindle the situation started to be bad. Cultural baggage from different culture infiltrated Islam and created the chaos that we find outselves in now. If only all Muslim countries followed Islam correctly, we wouldn't have these problem. No child would go hungry and educationless, etc. Islam has the soft power change the world and it will. People just have to realise that what they are currently doing in terms of communism, socialism, undemocratic deomocracy, dictatorship, kingdom, etc aren't work for them. It's time to work on social change and with social, democratic Islam.
@139(#Nahendra): Oh come on! Grow up! are u in still stuck in the early 80z still. Where US propogated that these Afghani terrorist are the Mujahidin and fighting for a sacred cause against the Soviets, because they had to bring em down. Watch Hilary Clinton's recent speech who has admitted as a fact themselves. About declaring a Fatwa, already 90% of Pakistan and Worldwide Ummah has declared these terrorist elements as non-muslims, It is only the western & India media who refers to them as muslims, we don't. Even one of our scholars from India, Mr. Zakir Naik declared them as Non-Muslims(Kufaar). If you were updated enough, We lost one of our greatest Muslim Scholar & Mufti Dr. Sarfraz Naeemi because he like the other Muslim Scholars, declared Taleban as non-muslims and declared a Jehad(Sacred War) against them. As for Megambar Muhammad (SAW), he was the only person who defined rights of War Prisoners back in the 672 AD. He use to free slaves from their masters by fighting them. Thats one of the reason that all these slaves and prisoners embraced Islam. He did fight wars but only where the Muslims were being deprived of their living rights. And which religion or community has not fight Wars in the history. The Reason for these wars must be Justified. I do not understand why do we get Religious Racist comments whenever a Muslim does something wrong.
Why do u blame Islam, everytime that a Muslim is found guilty. Why isn't America blamed of doing wrong because of Christianity & Judaism or an Indian Blamed about Hinduism? Because the Religion is never at fault but the individual is! Hindu Extremist had managed to disrupt Srilanka for 10 years because of fighting Gorilla Wars but was Hinduism ever blamed for it? Why not criticizing that instead of criticizing Muslims who already have declared these terrorist elements as non-muslims. On the other hand India always supported those so called Tamil Tigers!
A lost generation!
one of the better sets i've ever seen on here
How terrible condition is there in Pakistan. i think Pakistan is paying much more then expectation after became the USA allies war against terrorism. on one hand Pakistani government is suffering and sacrificing physically and financially because of these extremist/militants and on another hand USA and coalition countries are pressurizing Pakistan for DO MORE.... this is not fair...
United Nation, USA and its allies should think about this terrible condition. they should help Pakistan for the uplift of these refugee; rather just ask for 'do more' and offering just military support.
O God these children are suffering just because of wrong global policies... so sad and so shame
s
What does other muslim countries in the region do for the Pakistani people?
What wonderful photos, and how sad is to see those poor children
suffering of nothing.
Marilena Santiago
What a Sad Sad situation, we all know the condition but no positive and meaningful action taken to prevent from destruction of young lives.
#11 There is beauty where you least expect to find it.
Very sharp images with vibrant colors.
Ah yet another sad and unfortunate event at the hands of US foreign policy and their crony allies... like Saddam Hussein, like Karimov, like Housni Mubarak, through the appointment of yet another western appointed dictator, Asif Ali Zadari, aka Mr 10% the previously ousted corrupt thief. He got up and left from his posh London address to act as the wests agent in Pakistan to fill the political void left by the previous failed agent Musharraf. It would be interesting to know since Zadari has taken power what has happened to their forzen swiss account containting some £2billion stolen during their previous corrupt rule in Pakistan? The American invaded Afganistan to control the $10triilion+ oil pipeline to pump from the Caspian Sea regardless of the cost of life in Afganistan, the same in Iraq now the world largest oil producer and now Pakistan, the words of Malcom X come to mind, the US used to be a like a eagle invading and controling any country to steal the resources they liked, now it is more like a vulture praying on the weak and indefensible! From the comments on this page as usual "these children are to blame for their suffering" the same in Afganistan, in Iraq is was the prisoners fault for being abused, raped, or murdered, it was the childrens fault for being carpet bombed in Baghdad, and it is the Palestians childrens fault for being shot while having dinner with their family, or the families fault for sleeping in their homes while their homes got bulldozed!!
HOW LONG WILL THE INNOCENT PEOPLE OF THIS WORLD SUFFER IN PLAIN SIGHT !!?
What will the future of these Childrens? As per Quaid e Azam Said that Children r the builder of Pak?
Alas!!!!!!!!!!!
They r so innocent
it's funny how every picture here turns into an argument among indians and pakistani's and flares around anti-american sentiments. Guy's, this is a very complex situation, and myopic views on this wont help anyone's cause. No one - India, Pakistan or America is clean, and we all know that.
Great work on the pictures, though not all are great.
#27 shows how many people get medical attention in many parts of the world.. Good luck!
help them
help pakistan
help humanity
Nice pictures. They're quite pretty people aren't they?
I think people should understand that this situation is very complex, and not as simplistic as the news reports make out. Much is censored and oversimplified, as I can see from some of the comments made.
You can never blame the children who get caught up in it all, or say that they ultimately deserve it. However you look at it, we are all involved in the worldly ills that are occuring. Its not for no reason that we tend to 'care' so much about the affairs of, for example, oil-rich countries. We're living a life of relative luxury in the west, having reaped the rewards/benefits of colonising/invading other countries and taking their resources etc over the centuries. We knicked it for ourselves so we can have what doesnt technically belong to us, so that we can have an easier, more convenient life (eg cheap petrol). If we see those countries suffering at our hands (not just from our recent involvement in other countries' affairs but from the distant past also), lets not just blame the inadequacies of their people or their country/government, but think about how they ever got to that stage. You'll find we probably had something to do with it (and still do) in most cases.
Its easy to grow up enjoying the fruits that our predecessors may have helped to obtain through essentially immoral means. And its easy to say "well, we worked for it" - the means is as important as the end that is achieved, and we are somewhat accountable, whether we took part in it, support it or ignore it. I think we cannot take a neutral stance in this (as if we are disconnected from the rest of the world) and have a moral responsibility to fight for what is right and fair for anyone, not just our own nation, and that includes the children and people of Pakistan, as well as any other people.
Sad
In response to comment No.141 (Narendra). Hindutva is worst form of state sponsored terrorism. Have you ever condemend it? A concpiracy was hatcthed by the Chief Minister of Gujrat State to slaughter Muslim in the name of Jai Shri Ram. Where were you? Were you sitting with Hitler of our time Narendra Modi? You seems to me an outfit of notorious but so called social organization of India, viz. RSS. Prophet Muhammad never ever preached to take the innocent lives in the name of Islam. Talibans are paid insurgent of western world .Talibans are helping western world to demonise the whole or part of Muslim world has political difference with them.
You are a sadist.
just all this is capitalism,s brutality imposed by world masters to prepare their puppets first and then making them enemies to play the game of death and misery all over the world......form tent cities establishing in USA to these unviewable views in pakistan....story is open ......Spinoza righly said long time ago ; we are not to weep ; we are not to laugh but to understand.so we are and we must to understand it all the ways.
Thank you for the pictures...for many of us this is the only way we are made aware of what is going on in different parts of the world...
I have a very close friend who has fled the conflicts in the Peshawar region and now I don't know really what is happening to her and her family :(
may God be with them all ameen
It is true that a lot of these pictures show the faces of smiling children as though they are not aware of what is going on around them..but then again that is exactly the innocence of a child that has been captured.
Their resilence and determination to survive is visible
God be with all of them

Le-Ann

Dear All
As this is a very sensetive issue for discuss war on terrorism in swat. We will say it Operation Raherast. Most of the people say it war of America but I am in opinion that this is tottaly wrong. I will say that we are fighting agains USA. Every body knows it that Taliban (I will not say them muslims) getting help from USA and India. They are getting money from them, They are getting amunation from them and every thing which they need and now it has been proves also. I would like to ask the people who said that our army is fighting the war for USA. In the presence of this I must say that our army is now fighting against the USA. Can any one tell us that how a trained taliban being paid huge salary and how Mahsood is managing 60000 malaysia, who is feeding them and why USA and India are interested that Pak Army must not teach a lesson to Bait Ullah Mahsood. Simply taliban are the front men of these ugly powers. So this is the matter of survival of Pakistan and we must support our army so that the fitna of taliban can come to an end as soon as possible. And if a person who is thinking that taliban are on right side then he must go and stand with them against Pak army and muslims.
very very sad

i am from INDIA...and these pictures bring tears to my eyes..Hare KRISHNA!!
Brilliant Pics!! absolutely marvelous..how each emotion has been captured..is absolutely stunning! Fantastic work!
Bless You!
Thank you so much for posting these photos.
God bless our children and may allah help them to resettle in their home towns very soon.
Beautiful moving pictures, of a proud and beatiful race, so humbled and degraded, brings tears to my eyes.
if I could, I'd adopt all these children, give them education and food , to give them their dignity back.
The government & all the philanthropists need to concentrate on education for these children in these tent schools, and maybe they won't fall in the evil cluthes of the Taliban.
Who says Taliban are Muslims ? there is nothing Islamic about anything they've done so far. Help Pakistan get rid of them
nice pictures and nice job
i am looking forward that these kids return to their homes as soon as possible and they get the same enviroment which they had a few years back. the kids have been psychologically depressed, they need some special attention

May Allah give all of them a high rank in paradise, please pray for them may Allah give them passion in this hard time, and may Allah show a right path / direction to our leaders and the taliban.
By the way this is happening only due to all of our deeds, this is not the problem of taliban, pakistani army or our leaders myself, you and everyone is involved in that and playing their role, why because we are breaking the commandment of Allah Pak, we are ignoring the sunnah of Prophet S.A.W by simply saying "Oh this is sunna", we are critizing each other "he is this and this we are the rightous one".
"I am sorry if I hurt anyone, first I am pointing to myself"
May Allah Pak forgive all of us and put on the right track, the track of Muhammad P.B.U.H and his companions (Sahaba RA)

Pictures are amazing...
Well, I think that we can only overcome the this tide of terrorizm in AFG and PAK by finding solutions like economical refoms, offering more and more jobs to the people and by understanding the real facts and reasons of all what is happening there. Only gun is the not solution.
Such a beautiful part of the world and so are the people. It's just a shame that this region is in conflict. I was in Kashmir last November and I must say the people we met there were friendly and accommodating despite the situation they are in.
I subsequently read Three Cups of Tea as well (@93) and I admire the work Greg Mortenson has done for the children of Pakistan and Afghanistan. Education is most probably the most effective way to promote peace.
How these children are living, tough life, raw conditions, hardest working if we trained these guys they will become the assests of Pakistan cause they have seen the up & down of life from the begning of life.
there is no doubt that the muslims, especially the afganis and the pakistanis are the most beautiful people in the world....
even in the most distressed times they seem adorable....
may god help us in finding them peace...
Belas fotos, triste realidade... enquanto isso, os EUA/USA gastam milhões de dólares para manter o controle da região, sob a justificativa de combater o Taleban... quanta hipocrisa... e la nave va...

Hello, my names is Kadijah. I am not of the Islamic religion, however, my father is choosing its path because he believes its pure ( hes not an extremist). Getting to the point, I am here because i need your help in writing an a persuasive essay that'll get others interested in helping or donating money to places like Pakistan. I'd like some pros and cons on why and why not to donate. Thank you so very much for your help. (: (i dont believe in Allah or any god of that matter but i do believe there is something out there, and if there was any religion id choose to follow itd be the religion of Islam).
i am very sad to see these childrens ....................................................
It seems as if the world is coming to an end, but we,humans are busy in nothing but hate each other. Why can't we live as humans?stand united and fight positively against the evil? why are we all so divided?
we just hate, hate, and hate everyone around us who seems different or has different point of view. Its high time that we stand united now,let go of our hatred and resentment against other religions or we are all going to fall down. There are good and evil people in every part of the world. All christians are not good. All Muslims are nor good neither all are evil.No faith has PERFECT followers.we have to admit this fact! It is not the faith that should be blamed. It is the factors.Poor countries are more likely to produce terrorists because when someone cannot fulfill their basic needs they are surely going to turn to other ways.We should help educate the children in terrorism infested countries.Because if these children are not taken care of,they will turn into terrorists one day, they will be full of hatred towards us,the ones who did'nt give a S**t about them.insted of giving aid to these countries to buy heavy arms,or kill people, aid should be given to these countries to improve their economic and social coditions and imrove their literacy rate.SO NO ONE SLEEPS WITH A GROWLING HUNGRY STOMACH.Humans should be treated as humans. We all descended from one parents. We are all same.We are ONE.Think about it
Such beautiful pictures that managed to capture the innocence and the resilience of the Pakistani children amidst the bombings and violence going on there.
The universal language is love and care for others, it transcends race and religion. If only terrorists would stop and think about the collateral damage that they are inflicting on innocent people, especially children.
I'm headed over to Pakistan next January for a journalism internship and I can hardly wait.Thank you again for sharing these pictures.

Your photos are more beautiful.
Thank you for the eye-opener.
