The excitement is building in Arlington for the opening of Menotomy Grill & Tavern, a promising restaurant serving food by former Chez Henri chef Mark Thompson.

This week, the staff responded to a follower asking about an opening date on its Facebook page, saying undisclosed factors likely will push the debut to after next Monday's holiday.

"We are waiting on a few items that are out of our control. Hoping for the week after [Memorial Day]," the post reads.

Housed in a former video rental store just off Alewife Brook Parkway at 25 Massachusetts Avenue, the location is close enough for residents of Cambridge and Somerville to jump the line into Arlington. In a first look inside the space, Patch reports that it will seat 150 between the restaurant and its patio, with an additional 24 bar spots.

The website also has a peek at the opening day menu, which tops out at $24 for dishes. For locals excited about the presence of another bar in Arlington, there is no word yet on drink lists.
