Brookline's cutest restaurant in a gas station, Cognac Bistro, shutters on September 22, confirms BRT. (Read the Globe review here.) The Brookline Tab says that the owner, Nelson Cognac, is decamping to Jay Peak, Vermont, where he'll open a new restaurant.
Before opening in Brookline in 2010, Cognac owned Newton's Kouzina, a Greek restaurant, for 10 years. Cognac told the Tab that he plans to say goodbye to his loyal Coolidge Corner patrons on closing day with his favorite Greek meal: roasted lamb and spanakopita.
