While MC was slated to open this fall, we have two updates: First, it's going to open in early 2014. It also won't be called MC Medici any longer. (Was that the name of an ancient Florentine DJ?) We're told to expect a brand-new moniker for the hotel restaurant that will replace 606 Congress, which closed in August. Name or no name, the upcoming restaurant at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront is ambitious: It's run by James Beard award-winners and Top Chef Masters stars Mark Gaier and Clark Frasier, the team behind Ogunquit's venerable Arrows, and they're going for an "Italian renaissance theme," we've been told, in both cuisine and decor. In other news, they're selling Arrows after 25 years so that they can focus on the Boston venture. Ideas for a name?
