Excellent news for Burlington. A rep confirms that the Webber Restaurant Group — the team behind Groton's succulently rustic Gibbet Hill Grill — is on track to open The Bancroft steakhouse this spring. Webber has cornered the market on cozy: They also run Hingham's Scarlet Oak Tavern, Harvard's Fruitlands Museum, and New Hampshire's Fireside at LaBelle Winery.

The location isn't quite as pastoral (it's part of Burlington's 3rd Avenue Northwest Park), but ingredients will be sourced directly from Groton's 100-acre Gibbet Hill Farm.

Coming soon to the same Burlington development is a Wegmans grocery store and a Kings bowling alley.
