Good morning; I've just learned something intriguing. South End cocktail lair Wink & Nod's mystery culinary team are the chefs behind North End pop-up restaurant Whisk. I'm told that chefs Philip Kruta and Jeremy Kean will serve New American plates and bar snacks, starting in mid-March. Whisk is known for its funky combos: carrot and coconut panna cotta, duck bruschetta, and avocado mousse are a few of the curiosities that have popped up on previous Whisk menus. When the Globe checked up on them back in 2012, they called their concept "a place for you if youíre a foodie and canít afford to spend a lot of money on fine dining." They'd originally planned a restaurant in Jamaica Plain, where they started out, but the South End isn't too shabby. Wink & Nod is managed by Curtis McMillian, a man who is serious about cocktails: He's vice president of the United States Bartenders' Guild's Boston Chapter.
