Monday and Tuesday this week, the Boston.Comment team will host another round of Lab Debates, streamed live from the Globe Lab. This time, though, we're focusing on the at-large city council election, where eight candidates vie for four open seats.
You can stream the debates live here and on the homepage of Boston.com at 1 p.m. Make sure to follow along on Twitter as well, and tweet your questions with the hashtag #LabDebates.
Today we welcome Stephen Murphy, current city council president and at-large incumbent; Jack Kelly, Charlestown neighborhood coordinator; Jeff Ross, a political activist and immigration attorney; and Michelle Wu, a small business owner. The debate will be moderated by Boston Globe editorial page editor Peter Canellos and Malia Lazu, the executive director of the Future Boston Alliance.
On Tuesday we'll see at-large city councilors Ayanna Pressley and Michael Flaherty, East Boston High teacher Anissa Essaibi-George, and Martin Keogh, a former at-large councilor and mayoral candidate. The second debate will be moderated by former city council president and noted author Larry DiCara, partnered with Boston Globe columnist Adrian Walker.
