Revere Beach, 1963

It's always a bonus when you get a rock solid beach day after Labor Day. Today is one such day and Dirty OId Boston offers this richly colored photo taken up on Revere Beach in 1963. The deterioration of Revere Beach hadn't yet arrived, that was later in the late 60's and early 70's. The final nail in the coffin was the Blizzard of 1978. Today we remember it as a great place for friends and family to gather, work up an appetite and top the day off with a Kelly's Roast Beef Sandwich. Slap on the 30 skin protector one more time as the days already shorten. Now, about that Roast Beef.......
