Karzai threatens
to fight in Pakistan

President Hamid Karzai threatened yesterday to send Afghan soldiers across the border into Pakistan to fight militant groups operating in the border areas to attack Afghanistan. His comments, made at a news conference in Kabul, Afghanistan, are likely to worsen tensions between the countries, just days after US forces in Afghanistan killed 11 Pakistani soldiers on the border while pursuing militants. State plan is dismissed as par for the course

The state is planning an elaborate, multimillion-dollar reconstruction of the famous - some would say infamous - Ponkapoag Golf Course, with changes that include installation of a new drainage system that will stop some chronically soggy fairways from flooding and importing truckloads of peat to raise holes that have sunken from years of neglect.
