One of the goals of The Angle is to promote intelligent, thought-provoking discussion. We want there to be back-and-forth, both between readers and between readers and Globe authors and bloggers. Toward this end, we're going to be keeping an eye on the comments sections to make sure things remain at least decently civil.
At no point, of course, will be be undertaking any manner of ideological censorship. We will, however, gleefully banish to Internet nonexistence any comments which:
1) don't address the topic at hand;
2) attack a user, writer, or group in a personal way that doesn't address an argument said user, writer, or group made; or
3) consist primarily of the extremely original, never-before-made assertion that the Globe is simply a liberal/conservative/whatever rag.
That's it. All we ask is that you comment with an eye toward making some sort of substantive point. Beyond that, we hope the discussion is wide-ranging, fun, and intellectually vigorous.
