President Obama has caught flak from cable pundits and the blogopshere for his relatively dispassionate reaction to the attempted destruction of the Northwest 253 flight. But the president would only have played into jihadist stereotypes about the US if he had appeared more bellicose, surrounded by a phalanx of generals.
