Scott Brown has cast himself as the man in the middle, sending a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and his Republican counterpart, Mitch McConnell, early last week imploring them to come up with a bipartisan jobs bill. But if that’s a role he is serious about assuming, he needs to act the part. He has the breathing room to establish himself as a centrist leader. But he still must to show the political courage to do so.
