Boston’s school buses are stalled while excuses pile up from school officials and First Student, the city’s bus contractor. They blame chronically late school buses on unfamiliar software, a new routing system, tardy bus drivers, heavy traffic, and more. But the vendor and school department are losing credibility. It was more than a year ago when school officials told parents that a new computerized routing system would lead to immediate improvements in bus service.
