Some say po-tay-to, some say po-tah-to, and the US Department of Agriculture says a starchy vegetable that shouldn’t be served more than twice a week in school cafeterias. But, in response to that classification, the US Senate last week told the USDA to “call the whole thing off,’’ defunding the USDA’s new nutritional guidelines for school lunches.
