A dishwasher doesn’t just blast stray bits of turkey and gravy sauce off of plates. It’s also a window into the soul. As a Globe story noted this week, there’s a more or less optimal way to load a dishwasher: scrape but don’t rinse the dishes; load plates so they face the center sprayer; place taller items toward the outside. Yet different people observe - or violate - these rules in ways that reflect their overall outlook on life.
