Unfair to solos

THE STIMULUS package going through Congress shortchanges single heads of household, typically women, who are raising children or taking care of aging parents. It is a lot more difficult to run a household with dependents on a single paycheck than it is to run a household on two paychecks.

Couples and single heads of households ought to receive the same rebate amount of $1,200 plus $300 per child. It is regrettable that congressional Democrats overlooked or ignored this inequity.
