IMAGINE MY concern and dismay at having to wait in line for 40 minutes to catch an outbound subway at the Fenway T stop after the Red Sox game. There was a very long line behind me as I boarded, and I'm sure there were others who waited much longer.
On Earth Day of all days, I would have hoped that the T could provide enough cars and drivers to more expeditiously transport the thousands of fans who chose to use public transportation instead of their cars. Judging from the conversations I heard around me, having to wait so long for a train was a disincentive for many to use public transportation in the future. I hope that the MBTA and other stakeholders can find a solution to this problem, not only for Fenway fans, but to others who reach for the car keys instead of the Charlie card.
