MICHAL REGUNBERG accuses women of my generation of ignoring feminism if we do not vote for Hillary Clinton ("Sexism - stoked by the media," Op-ed, May 14). Regunberg forgets that feminists fought and continue to fight to convince the world that women can think for themselves. The message that women must vote for female candidates counters our attempt to gain equal footing, just as telling members of any ethnic group that they must vote for "their" candidate hinders equality rather than helping. In the upcoming elections, I plan to honor the struggles of my mother, grandmothers, and all other women by making an educated decision about whom to vote for and by not accepting that I should vote for any candidate simply because I am a woman.
