The sellouts aren't the ballplayers

IT ALWAYS amuses me when baseball fans blame the players for the players' high salaries. Wouldn't any one of us take the highest amount we were offered to do our jobs? And wouldn't any one of us rather work for the company that would pay us the most and give us the best situation, instead of being tied to the same company our entire career?

Marvin Miller simply opened the industry up to the workers. If the game is financially out of reach for the average fan, don't blame Miller and the players; it's obviously still what the market will bear. The Red Sox are closing in on their 450th straight home sellout. Obviously someone is buying the tickets, and the millionaires who own the team don't care who that someone is, as long as the seats are filled.
