Getting around executive privilege

Email|Print|Single Page| Text size +
July 21, 2008

PRESIDENT BUSH and company have been asserting executive privilege every time questions are raised about anything, such as the CIA leak or the 2003 State of the Union address ("Bush asserts executive privilege on compliance in CIA leak case," Page A14, July 17). I feel they can get away with this because the subjects are not important, as they only involve issues such as national security.

What we need are a couple of Paula Jones wannabes to bring charges about sexual misbehavior. Then, we would see every e-mail, phone conversation, and meeting for the last seven years pored over in excruciating detail. Maybe even some of their mothers would be subpoenaed.

Maybe Larry Flynt would be willing to help.
