YVONNE ABRAHAM'S Oct. 19 column pointed out that the Chinatown park is one place where the Greenway has been brought to life by daily community use. Chinatown, which has the least amount of open space of any neighborhood in the city, appreciates this beautiful new landscaped plaza, but is still on a campaign to secure a major green space that can provide for recreational uses by all ages. With the future development of the Chinatown Gateway area where all those ramps come together south of Kneeland Street, the community hopes to use the air rights to extend the Greenway beyond the Chinatown park and fulfill a long-held dream of this overly cramped neighborhood.
