RE "McCAIN and Obama campaigns try to woo Jewish voters" (City & Region, Oct. 20): Although Richard Heideman is indeed an honorary president of B'nai B'rith International, the views he expressed - he spoke as a surrogate for Senator John McCain - at the forum held last week at Congregation Kehillath Israel in Brookline are, of course, entirely his own. As a charitable organization, B'nai B'rith does not endorse any candidates in political races.

DEBORAH AUERBACH-DEUTSCH
Vice president, communications
B'nai B'rith International
Washington
