A knock on the elderly?

I READ Veronica Morra's Nov. 5 letter "Stunned to find no ID required," in which she writes that the polling place inspector claimed she would recognize Morra if she attempted to vote a second time. Morra adds that she doubted that because there were hundreds of people there and the woman looked to be in her 70s. I find it offensive to assume that one's mental acuity is not up to par because she looks to be in her 70s. Does this not hint of age discrimation?
