TO MAINTAIN services such as police and fire protection and education for our children, we must pay for them, one way or another. An increased gasoline tax, in addition to paying for services, would discourage driving, help the environment, and reduce wear and tear on the roads. Higher sales taxes would drive more business out of the state. Wouldn't it be more sensible to pay through a tax that would do some good?
