RE "CHENEY takes swipes at Powell's standing" (Page A7, May 11): I found it appallingly unstatesmanlike of former vice president Dick Cheney to say he'd rather follow broadcaster Rush Limbaugh than former Joint Chiefs chairman and secretary of state Colin Powell into the political battle of the Republican Party.
To choose someone who would rather see a new president fail over someone who has faithfully served his country and held major federal roles is incendiary and divisive.
With all due respect, per- haps Cheney's leadership skills would now be best spent on talk radio, rather than continuing to protect the interests of the country.

THE LIMBO was once a popular party game to see how low one could go as the bar sank downward.
Dick Cheney has brought it back as the Limbaugh.
