Put debate aside, and try an art class

"THAT AGE-OLD question: But is it art?" (Letters, May 18) has been debated for generations. I have been a serious artist for many years, and have so often heard people say, "I don't know anything about art, but I know what I like," to which I reply, "If you knew more about art, you would like more."

There certainly is art made to take advantage of an unknowing populace, but with education and an open mind, one should be able to tell the difference.
