WE VOTED for Michael Dukakis for president in 1988, but cannot accept his view that “the experience of watching a ballgame at Fenway is as good as anyone could possibly enjoy’’ (Op-ed, June 17). No, we delighted more in watching the Red Sox play Baltimore, Toronto, and Philadelphia at their own home-grown ballparks. At Fenway, we’re crammed into seats, constantly interrupted by fans arriving late, going to the bathroom, and obstructing our view. The parks we visited have spacious seating, better amenities, and employ monitors that allow fans to be seated only during the interruption of play or between innings. The atmosphere was far superior and prices much cheaper. We love the Sox, but fans need a better stadium.
