The Sox need their captain

IF EVER the Red Sox brain trust needs to understand the value of the team’s captain, it can review Tuesday night’s ridiculous 11-10 loss to Baltimore after catcher Jason Varitek was replaced in the 7th inning with the Sox leading 10-1. George Kottaras is a good catcher, and he handles knuckleballer Tim Wakefield well, but experience and knowledge do count, and, as they say, the rest is history.
