OBAMA'S BACK-TO-SCHOOL MESSAGE
HAVING READ and heard the outrageous outcry by some about our president’s planned speech to the nation’s children, which was aired yesterday, I would like to share this tidbit.
My husband and I were enjoying Chinese food at dinner last weekend, talking about politics, as usual. When it was time to crack open our fortune cookies, we did so in an unassuming way, only to be taken aback by the first fortune to fall onto the table: “A great man never ignores the simplicity of a child.’’
Wow! Kudos to President Obama for reaching out to the youngsters of America. Now they will know that they are an important constituency of his administration.
