It’s called football. You play it, fairly and well, for four quarters.

I AM responding to Steve Carlton’s Oct. 20 letter (“Remember the Titans’’), which accused the New England Patriots of running up the score on the Tennessee Titans. I was saying the same thing to my husband around the third quarter, when he explained that they weren’t. They took Tom Brady out as well as other first-string players. They were running the ball, which eats up more time. What else are they supposed to do - take a knee every time, and then hand the ball over to the Titans and say, “Here you go. Why don’t you have a turn’’?

I agree with Carlton on one thing: I hope the Titans show up the next time they play the Pats, so we can enjoy a good football game.
