I OBJECT to Jeremy Eichler’s introduction (“Opening nights, opening minds,’’ Oct. 18) of conductor Gustavo Dudamel, who “in case you’ve been living in an organ loft, is an astonishingly young (28) Venezuelan firebrand with an electrifying podium presence and a passionate commitment to musical community.’’

Some of my best friends live in organ lofts.
