RE “LAWMAKERS, don’t focus on fluff’’ (Op-ed, Oct. 25): I agree with state Senator Richard R. Tisei that Beacon Hill is wasting time debating what should be the state sandwich or the state candy bar when unemployment is reaching 10 percent, businesses and residents are leaving the state in droves (my family and I will be joining this exodus next spring), and taxes, state spending, and the cost of living spiral out of control.

Where I disagree with Tisei is in his assumption that the Legislature and governor are capable or willing to do anything else but waste time and energy debating such mundane items as Fluffernutter and Charleston Chews.
