TAXATION WITHOUT HESITATION?
JOAN VENNOCHI (“The tax brigade builds . . .,’’ Op-ed, Oct. 25) reports that Judy Meredith and like-minded citizens want to have their taxes raised.
There’s a simple way to gratify their desires without a protracted policy debate: Meredith et al. are welcome to make voluntary contributions to the state treasury or to any municipality (these may be tax deductible, but I’m sure these high-minded citizens would waive the deduction on principle).
On the other hand, anyone who wants to have my taxes raised is welcome to sit down and shut up.
