I WAS struck by the fact that atheists are advertising to make a group available to those who want to be with like-minded people, when there has always been a group available (“New T ads reach out to Hub’s faithless: Atheist group has similar campaigns in cities across US,’’ Metro, Oct. 28). I’m a Unitarian Universalist, and we are the most inclusive of all churches. Everyone is welcome at a UU church - Christians, Buddhists, atheists, agnostics, gays, transgendered, people of all races, etc. We do not tell people what to think but encourage them to think for themselves.

Thomas Jefferson, an admirer of Unitarianism, was once told that his belief had no required prayer; his response was that his life was his prayer. We believe it isn’t what you say you believe; what really matters is how you live your life. We believe in gender and racial equality; we are environmentalists; we work in a variety of ways to serve our communities; we are a compassionate, generous, inclusive group who have chosen a conscious way of life. Drop in for a visit - anyone and everyone.
Sofia Rasher, Brockton
