A liberal at Normandy

RE “CONSERVATIVE hopes ‘patriots’ will join his European jaunts’’ (Travel, Nov. 8): Please tell Ken Chase, who said, “I’ve never, never heard a liberal say, ‘I want to make a pilgrimage to Normandy,’ ’’ that here is one liberal who went to the Normandy beaches last November with a busload of people. I even brought back sand (it’s allowed) to my liberal soldier brother who landed there in 1944.
